Why We Built This
Too many patients make healthcare decisions based on assumptions. Americans assume their system is the best. Canadians accept multi-month waits as inevitable. Neither group realizes that countries like Colombia, ranked #22 by the WHO (ahead of both the US and Canada), offer equivalent or superior care at a fraction of the cost with virtually no wait times.
We built Healthcare Compare to let the data speak for itself. No hype, no marketing spin — just side-by-side comparisons that help patients see the full picture.
Our Methodology
Our rankings reference the World Health Organization's overall health system performance assessment. Cost data is compiled from published international pricing, clinic surveys, and medical tourism industry reports, presented as estimated 2026 ranges. Wait time data is sourced from OECD health statistics and country-specific health ministry reports. We never fabricate statistics or cherry-pick data to favor any destination.
Who We Are
Healthcare Compare is operated by Scout Theory LLC and is part of a network of medical information resources including Healthcare Colombia and Colombia Medical, which connects international patients with vetted Colombian clinics. We are transparent about this connection: our data led us to Colombia, and our experience there confirmed what the numbers showed.
